Years ago we built together — social media, websites, the digital front door for a homebuilding-industry leader. Now we're back at the table, building entire automated marketing departments in the age of AI.

The context

Where this partnership was forged.

BDX — Builders Digital Experience — is the homebuilding industry's digital-marketing and technology company, based in Austin, Texas. It operates NewHomeSource, the largest new-construction listings marketplace in the U.S., along with the Envision online home-design platform and a suite of lead-generation and advertising tools for builders. BDX grew out of Builder Homesite (BHI), a consortium owned by many of the nation's largest homebuilders, and at its height served well over 1,200 builders. BDX was acquired by Zonda in February 2024.

Tim Costello founded the homebuilding industry's technology consortium, Builder Homesite (BHI), and led it as chairman and CEO for more than two decades — building it into the parent of BDX, operator of NewHomeSource and the digital backbone for most of America's homebuilders. Before homebuilding, he helped launch General Motors' first modern electric vehicle, the EV1, and drove lean-manufacturing transformation as a VP of global operations at Applied Materials. He is a widely recognized voice on digital transformation for builders, a frequent keynote speaker at the NAHB International Builders' Show and the TecHome Builder Summit, and the author of guidance like "8 Steps to Digitally Transform Your Home Building Business." Today he advises technology companies and co-founded the advisory firm Built For the Future.

Melissa Morman

Melissa Morman was part of the founding team of BHI/BDX and spent more than two decades there as Chief Experience Officer, owning the customer journey end to end — B2B marketing, sales, and service. She is a recognized authority on sales, marketing, CRM, and digital transformation for builders, developers, and building-product manufacturers, advising leaders from Fortune 500 firms to startups. Earlier in her career she held executive roles at the CRM services company ClientLogic. She helped lead BDX product initiatives including Envision, the industry's online home-options platform, and is a sought-after speaker at the NAHB International Builders' Show and TecHome events. She holds a degree in organizational communication and management information systems from Ohio University, and co-founded Built For the Future.

The WholeTech.com team builds AI-ready websites and automated marketing systems out of Austin, Texas. The team previously ran social media and built web properties for the BDX side — the foundation of this renewed collaboration. Today it runs WholeTech, a network of nearly 200 sites built on the "Agents First" principle: every site designed so AI agents can read it, use it, and act on it. Its focus now is agentic AI web development — standing up entire sites, and entire automated marketing departments, in hours instead of weeks.
